I have been a practicing Clinical Psychologist for over a decade. My approach to psychological therapy involves an integration of my values and philosophies, such as a person's right to make autonomous and informed decisions; encouraging non-judgemental curiosity in one's life; treating a person with respect and humanity; and applying scientific principles to a psychotherapeutic setting. In therapy, I aim to collaboratively learn alongside the client to promote deeper understanding and support clients to align their thoughts, emotions and behaviours in a way that helps clients to live the life they want.
I work with a range of clinical conditions including anxiety, depression, procrastination, chronic illnesses, challenges associated with adjusting to university life, workplace difficulties and challenges arising from unfamiliar cultures. Although I do not currently do couples therapy, I do have experience working with individuals who are having relationship challenges to promote healthier relationships with themselves and others including their partner. The psychological principles that I apply in my therapeutic approach come from a variety of evidence based psychological therapies including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Remediation Therapy and Schema Therapy.
To become an accredited Clinical Psychologist, I obtained a Bachelor of Psychology (with Honours) at the University of New South Wales. I then completed a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Psychology. Since then I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including public and private hospitals )Nepean Renal Supportive Care, Nepean Chronic Pain Management, Greenwich Hospital Rehabilitation and Wesley Eating Disorders Unit) as well as various universities across Australia. Along the way I have learnt valuable lessons in each setting that have helped me to inform and refine the way I conduct Psychological Therapy enabling me to offer my clients the best possible outcomes I can.
